Patterns & Illustrations

for BotiBoty - 2023

BotiBoty is a children’s fashion brand based in Madagascar that has been creating luxury cashmere clothing since 2023.

I had the pleasure of working on some of their visual identity before the brand launched!

I was asked to create :

  • A pattern in three different colourways , to be used on packaging as well as social media platforms and the brand’s website

  • An illustration for their “thank you” art print, included with every order

  • Three illustrations to be included in a booklet telling a tale from Madagascar.

I took inspiration from the brand’s colour palette and logo, and the beautiful fauna and flora of the island of Madagascar.

For the art print, I was asked to include a goat, from which cashmere is made, as well as the traveler’s tree, one of Madagascar’s important symbols. The illustration has later been printed as an A5 print, to be included as a gift in every order!

For the pattern, I included the little crown representing the brand’s logo, as well as animals and plants from Madagascar. I created three different colourways based on the brand’s colour palette and needs. I carefully picked a light, medium and dark background to ensure the pattern could be used with different items and photography and pair nicely with all sorts of visual.

The pattern is used as a background for Instagram publications on the brand’s account, as well as a banner on the brand’s website and social media platforms. It has also been printed on some of the packaging items.

The booklet tells a traditional tale from Madagascar, and I was asked to illustrate three scenes from the story.
It has then been printed as an A5 size and included in every order.

Researches & sketches

When sketching and researching for this project, I focused on including several plants and trees from Madagascar, and developing a palette around the brand’s signature colours.
